Visit the capitol to view the vast, dramatic mural of abolitionist John Brown, who roamed the plains near here prior to the Civil War. An 1880 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe steam locomotive, a Cheyenne teepee and a covered wagon are part of the collection at the Kansas History Center and Museum. About an hour’s drive west, hike the virgin grasslands of Konza Prairie. |
